Virtual

The virtual version of Challenge for Life is back again in 2024! Create your own Challenge to reach 20km or 200 minutes of fitness from anywhere you choose from May 25-June 1.

Complete your Challenge over one or multiple days! Walk, cycle, swim, run or do a workout. There are no limits! Get as creative as you want with your Challenge. Plus, we invite you to join us on June 1 for the event celebrations to walk down Victory Road and ring the bells as you cross the finish line!

Join your fellow Manitobans and reduce your personal risk of cancer while helping raise awareness and funds to support CancerCare Manitoba's work on behalf of all Manitobans and their families living with cancer.

Questions you may have:

Who can participate? Is there a minimum age?

Participants of all ages are welcome to participate. However, for the safety and enjoyment of everyone:

Participants who will be under the age of 18 while completing their Challenge must provide a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian at the time of registration. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is a registered participant in the Challenge and a waiver must be signed by parent or legal guardian.

Each registered participant must achieve the $500 fundraising minimum.

Note: Participants who are 5 years old and younger are free and not required to meet the fundraising minimum.

What if I can't walk 20km or do 200 minutes of fitness all at once?

Feel free to break up the 20km or 200 minutes over the seven days (May 27-June 3) in whatever way you need. For the 20km, this could be four 5km walks, or 2.8km each day. For the 200 minutes, this works out to 28.5 minutes a day. Your safety is always our first priority. Please take care as you complete your challenge.

Plus, you can still join the opening ceremonies and walk Victory Road to ring the bells on event day if you are able.

: just because you can’t make it on event day, doesn’t mean you can’t make a difference by raising funds which profoundly impact CancerCare Manitoba patient outcomes. Email or call us at 204.927.LIFE (5433) for more information on becoming a virtual participant.

I want to get involved but I'm not sure how.

Volunteer and cheer opportunities are available. Please contact the Challenge for Life team at 204-927-LIFE (5433) to find out more about being a part of the Challenge for Life.

I want to register, what do I do now?

Challenge for Life is much more than a fundraiser. We are raising serious dollars for a serious cause.

Register online or call 204-927-LIFE (5433). The registration fee is $25. During the registration process, you can choose to join as an individual, create a team, or join an existing team.

Participants who register commit to:

  • Raise a minimum of $250 for CancerCare Manitoba prior to event day.
  • Agree to be proactive in reducing your own risk of cancer by making practical changes in your everyday life like getting active to Protect Your Tomorrows.

Note: Children 5 years and younger are free and not required to meet this fundraising minimum.

Your fundraising efforts will benefit all Manitobans through the outstanding work done at CancerCare Manitoba. We know your donors will appreciate supporting CancerCare Manitoba through Challenge for Life.

Can I still join the celebrations on June 3 at Assiniboine Park?

Yes! We'd love to see you at Assiniboine Park with us to partake in the opening ceremonies and to walk Victory Road and ring the bells as you cross the finish line on Saturday, June 3. You completed your Challenge and you earned it!
