My mother passed of cancer 30 years ago when I was 8 years old. Though I have struggled, I have worked through the worst of my longing to see her. Forgiveness was a huge part of that. To her, to others, to myself.
Now, as I approach the age she was when cancer took her from me, I can’t help but think of how much life I have left to live; how much she had but missed. Cancer has affected us all in some way or another and unfortunately it will again before our time is up on this planet. We all expect to see our children grow old, have kids of their own and be successful on their path. When cancer takes hold it blocks the path, it leaves nightmares where dreams once were. It affects and changes families and individual lives forever leaving one to ask; what could have been?
Being a participant means I am committed to improve my overall health and reduce my own risk of cancer. I have also committed to raise at least $250 in the fight against cancer to help support cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research and education at CancerCare Manitoba for all Manitobans with cancer. Help me reach my goal!
Together, we can change the course of cancer in Manitoba. Together we can see our children have children of their own, we can take the life path WE choose, live out our dreams and keep the magic and wonder of life alive.
At the moment, a donation is the best way to progress to a cancer free world.
Please donate.
