Good day,
Did you know that two in five of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime?
In 2004, my older sister was one of those individuals to hear those difficult words - "you have cancer." A short 14 months later, after a very courageous fight, she passed away at the age of 43. Our family misses her very much and thinks about her daily.
On June 1, I'm taking the Challenge - CancerCare Manitoba's Challenge for Life 20km walk - because I hope for less people to have to hear those 3 challenging words!
2024 will be my 15th consecutive year in this event. Over the past 14 years, thru the support of family and friends, we have raised over $55,000 - for that I offer a sincere thank you!
This year will be extra tough - as I will be participating in honor of Cousin Bill and Close Friend Eddie T - who recently passed away from Cancer in late 2023.....both in their 50s!
For 2024, I am once again committing to raise at least $4,000 to support Manitobans affected by cancer.
Please consider donating to this very, very important cause.
Your donation will fund important research, clinical trials, treatment, services and patient care at CancerCare Manitoba. Your donation will also have a life-changing impact on the lives of mothers, fathers, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends and all those in our lives who are now, or will be in the future, touched by cancer.
We'll do it together...because we can!
Sincerely,
Steve
