I am taking the Challenge – CancerCare Manitoba Foundation's 15th annual Challenge for Life – because I can!
My name is Jason Gisser, and I am a 37-year old lawyer from Winnipeg and proud cancer fighter. I was first diagnosed with cancer at 18 years old, and having been fighting for years to control the disease. Fortunately, thanks to the incredible programs, services, and treatments offered by CancerCare Manitoba, I am able to control my cancer with oral chemotherapy and live a normal life.
This is my 5th year participating in the Challenge for Life, and the 2nd as Team Captain of my team, Jason's Journey. By participating in this Manitoba-wide event, I have committed to raise funds for the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation in the fight against cancer, and to walk 20 kilometres, which I will do all on one day during the the Challenge for Life period of August 4 to 14.
CancerCare Manitoba is responsible for cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research and education for all Manitobans.
Join me and hundreds of others across this great province to support the programs and services that allow people like me to fight and overcome cancer.
You can support the Challenge for Life by registering yourself and choosing your own challenge to walk/run/bike for 20 km or perform 200 minutes of fitness, or by supporting me with a donation. Whether it is $20 or $200, every amount is appreciated!
Together, with each step we take in the Challenge for Life, we can change the course of cancer in Manitoba.
