Fundraising Tips & Resources
Using your Participant Centre
Log into your Participation Centre by clicking “Login” on top right-hand corner of the home page. Enter your username and password.
From your online Participant Centre, you can:
- Customize your personal fundraising page with a story and photo
- Send fundraising and recruitment emails (there are pre-written templates you can use)
- Track your progress
- Share your page on social media using the share tools
- Edit your username, password, and fundraising goal
Adding personal contacts:
- Log in to your Participant Centre
- Go to your Participant Centre
- Click on the “Email” tab
- Select “contacts” then “import contacts” (both on the right-hand side of the page)
- Select the email service you use
- Follow the prompts to upload a contact list
- For Shaw or Bell MTS users, you may have to export your addresses to a .csv file (Microsoft Excel file) first, then import the .csv file to your contacts
Another way is to copy your personal URL found in your participant centre and share it with your contacts through your own email program.
- Your url will look something like this:
http://support.cancercarefdn.mb.ca/site/PageServer?pagename=home_cfl_2017&fr_id=1150 - Highlight your personal URL and copy, and then paste it into an email you created in your email program. This way you can write your email message and send and receive your messages using your usual Gmail, Shaw etc. account. This takes you out of the Participant Centre AND your donations will still show up on your personal page.
You can also upload a .csv file:
- Export your contacts from Gmail, Shaw etc. into a CSV file with three columns labelled: first name, last name, email address | John | Jones | johnjones@shaw.ca |
- You may have to use the Data\Text to Columns feature to spread to three columns
- Save the file as a .csv file type
- From your Participant Centre, Home section, click “Add my contacts” and click “Import contacts.” Click on third button, “File-based import,” then Browse to find your .csv file. Click Open, then Next.

The CancerCare events team can also access your contacts from a previous year of the Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival. For assistance adding contacts to your participant centre call 204-927-5433.
Send a fundraising email:
Use the pre-written template:
- Log in to your Participant Centre
- Click on the “Email” tab
Configure
- Select a template such as “Solicitation” to send a fundraising email
- Click it and click “Next” to edit
Compose:
- Personalize your letter and type in your name as the sender
- You can save it as a template for later use
- Click “Next”
Set recipients
- Enter your contacts (future supporters’) names and email addresses in the “To:” field or Click on “choose from your contacts list” if you’ve imported your contacts already
- You will see their e-mail addresses in the “Recipient List” column
- Click “Next”
- When a mass email is sent out, the recipients do not see who else you are sending to
- You can “Preview” your message
- Then hit the green “Send” button at the bottom of the page
Save as draft:
- If you want to wait and send later, “Save as a Draft”
- To find the draft, click “Drafts.” (It’s on the right side of the page)
Recent activity:
- From the Home Screen, scroll down to see your recent activity. Click on those you need to thank. Personalize one at a time or send a group thank you.
Email history:
- To see who you have sent to and if they opened your email or donated, click “Add My Contact / View History”
- Browse through individuals or groups you sent to
- See just your donors or just those you did not send to
- This page shows the names of your team members too
Write a personal email:
- Log in to your Participant Centre
- Click on the “Email” tab
- Enter your future supporters’ names and email addresses in the “To:” field or Click on “choose from your contacts list” if you’ve imported your contacts already
- Enter your subject line in the “Subject” field
- Write your email
- You can save as a template for later use
- Then hit “Send” at the top of the page
Upload your profile picture
- Log in to your Participant Centre
- Click on the “Personal Page” tab
- Click on “Photos/Video” (it’s on the right side of the page)
- Click the “Browse” button
- Add a picture from your computer then click “Open”
- Click the “Save/Upload” button
- You may have to save to your computer as a smaller size before uploading
- Click on Content (above Photos/Video) to see your full page again
- Click (View Personal Page) to see what your page will look like once live
Include your personal story
- Log in to your Participant Centre
- Click on the “Personal Page” tab
- Edit your page title and body copy
- Click the “Save” button
