2023 Community Event - Pediatric Cancers

Bisons Walk-a-Thon for Childhood Cancer (BWFCC)

In 2022, the University of Manitoba's Science Students’ Association in collaboration with the University of Manitoba Students' Union, hosted the first Bisons Walk-a-Thon for Childhood Cancer (BWFCC), in partnership with CancerCare Manitoba, to raise funds for local pediatric cancer research.

Coming together to realize this passion project was truly such a meaningful experience for us all, and we were thrilled to be able to support other Manitobans affected by Childhood Cancer in the process.

We are grateful to be part of such a wonderful community, who made this event immensely successful!

Because of the support we received, our herd will now walk annually to lead the collective fight against Childhood Cancer, with this year's event taking place at the University of Manitoba Fort Garry Campus on Saturday, May 27th, 2023.

We are happy to have your support whether it be in-person at the event, through online fundraising, or both!

CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is the only organization exclusively fundraising for CancerCare Manitoba. While CancerCare Manitoba works in partnership with Manitoba Health, some programs and services may not be eligible for government funding. CancerCare Manitoba Foundation raises funds to bridge this gap and help deliver the best research, patient care, treatment, and support for all Manitobans and their families living with cancer.

Each year more than 6,000 Manitobans receive a cancer diagnosis. Your continued support helps CancerCare Manitoba and its partners prepare for an estimated 50% increase in the number of people diagnosed and living with cancer over the next decade.

By supporting the BWFCC, you are helping to support CancerCare Manitoba in its work to change lives and change the course of cancer in our province.

Thank you for your consideration in supporting us as #BisonsWalk4Cancer again this year!

Feel free to contact us at bisonswalk4cancer@gmail.com, or on Instagram @bisonswalk4cancer for any inquiries.

Sincerely,

The 2023 BWFCC Planning Committee
