Cancer Care Manitoba

2021 Community Event - All Cancers

Selkirk Home Hardware Building Centre Helping to Fight Cancer

Home Hardware has been part of the Selkirk/Interlake community for 35 years, Richard Borthistle started, with less than 25 employees, in 2012 his son's Rob and Scot bought it, and now employ around 100.

Just like the company, the sense of family continues with its staff. Over the years we have celebrated weddings, births and helped many staff over come tragedy and loss. Like everyone we have felt the effects of cancer throughout our working family/store. We have staff that have fought a good fight and won their battle and some despite giving it their best, lost their battle with cancer. This disease doesn't discriminate and it shows in our small community. Over the years we've had everything from Pancreatic, Prostate, Thyroid, Brain, Lung and more in our store alone.

Each year more than 6,000 Manitobans receive a cancer diagnosis.  Your continued support helps CancerCare Manitoba and its partners prepare for an estimated 50% increase in the number of people diagnosed and living with cancer over the next decade. By helping with a donation, you are helping to support CancerCare Manitoba in its work to change lives and change the course of cancer in our province.

Every donation -no matter how big or small- is critical as we work together to stay ahead of this disease. Selkirk Home Hardware Building Center is committed in The Fight to end ALL Types of Cancer
