Hi,

My name is Alicia Fox, and on February 25th, I will be turning 40, something that I have been a bit apprehensive about. I won't lie, 40 is a scary number for me as it seems like such a huge milestone. But not everyone makes it to 40, and it's that thought that inspired me to shave my head for CancerCare Manitoba. 

I have been growing my hair out for over a decade and on the 26th of February I will cut it all off to donate to Wigs for Kids and I would love to raise money for CancerCare Manitoba during the process. 

We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. Recently, a dear friend of my mom had her breast cancer come back. I have lost my dad, grandpa, and a very close friend to cancer. In high school, a friend of mine was diagnosed with and eventually lost his life to leukemia. He won't see his big 40. It's not just about the losses, though. There are many survivors, too, and it takes a lot of resources to cure someone of cancer. So, in honour of all those I have lost and the survivors who have fought, I am going to cut it all off. I am hoping the people I know and love will join me in celebrating by donating to CancerCare Manitoba. Every dollar makes a difference!

CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is the only organization exclusively fundraising for CancerCare Manitoba. While CancerCare Manitoba works in partnership with Manitoba Health, some programs and services may not be eligible for government funding. CancerCare Manitoba Foundation raises funds to bridge this gap and help deliver the best research, patient care, treatment, and support for all Manitobans and their families living with cancer. 

Each year, more than 6,000 Manitobans receive a cancer diagnosis.  Your continued support helps CancerCare Manitoba and its partners prepare for an estimated 50% increase in the number of people diagnosed and living with cancer over the next decade.
