Today (Aug. 17) is one of our favourite days of the year, our Lemonade Stand for Hope in support of CancerCare Manitoba.  Having loved ones who have faced cancer diagnoses and treatments, I know how hard it can be for families.

Our Lemonade Stand for Hope is an opportunity to give back to such an important foundation, while connecting with community and spreading a message of hope to all. Desmond Tutu said, “Hope is being able to see there is light despite all of the darkness.” and that is what CancerCare Manitoba helps people do, navigate the darkness and keep hope. We would love for you to partner with us in helping us reach (or surpass) our fundraising goal of $1 000!

Our lemonade stand runs today in Rivers, Manitoba from 10am-2pm. We have (of course) refreshing lemonade, but also MANY types of sweet treats (thanks to our wondeful volunteer bakers). Individually wrapped sweets and glasses of lemonade are each $1.

We have many hand-crafted items available for purchase at our “Made in Manitoba” Table (including: hand-knit items, jewelry, and giftware). Everything is priced between 50 cents and $10. There are lots of lovely treasures for you to enjoy or pick up for someone special.

Additionally, we have 6 awesome prize baskets that you can buy tickets for (and you do not need to be in attendance to claim prizes). We will announce winners on Sunday.

Finally, we will have a silent auction for 3 stunning original watercolour art pieces by Kathryn Bartmanovich. These each come double-matted and ready to frame and hang! (Message me if you would like more information about how to bid on these pieces.)

There is seating available, music playing, and sidewalk chalk for kids to enjoy. Doesn’t that sound like a great way to spend your Saturday? We look forward to enjoying this beautiful day with you and we say a huge “thank you” for all the support we have already had come in and the generosity that will flow in today!
