I am taking the Challenge – CancerCare Manitoba Foundation's 16th annual Challenge for Life – because I can!
A little bit of a backstory- I was diagnosed five years ago, at age 29, with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After a few months of treatment, and even more time for recovery, I am now approaching my five-year mark, which will mean that I am « cured ». However, the stress and risk of secondary cancer after having had a blood cancer, and the health issues caused by chemotherapy stay with you for life. Four years ago, I walked in Jason’s team to try and recover from treatment, today I mark an important anniversary for both of us.
Being a participant means I can help other people who will be in the same situation and fight towards a world without cancer. I have also committed to raise at least $250 in the fight against cancer to help support cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research and education at CancerCare Manitoba for all Manitobans with cancer.
CancerCare Manitoba is dedicated to excellence in care, providing the latest treatments available for those diagnosed and living with cancer and blood disorders and improving cancer outcomes for all Manitobans.
Join me in the Challenge or support me with a donation! Together, we can change the course of cancer in Manitoba.
