Welcome to my fundraising page! My name is Jason Gisser, and I am a 38-year old lawyer living in Winnipeg who, for the past 20 years, has battled a rare form of cancer. Fortunately, I have received lifesaving treatments through CancerCare Manitoba which have allowed me to stabilize my cancer in recent years and live a normal life.
I am taking the Challenge – CancerCare Manitoba Foundation's 16th annual Challenge for Life – because I can!
This is the 6th year in which I am participating in the Challenge for Life. I have previously served as an Ambassador for the event and currently serve as Team Captain of Jason's Journey, which you can join by searching "Jason's Journey" on the main page or by going to: https://support.cancercarefdn.mb.ca/site/TR/Challenge4Life/Challenge4Life2023?team_id=7034&pg=team&fr_id=1813
The Challenge for Life is an important event for me because it helps raise over $1 million a year towards critical resources to help support cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research and education at CancerCare Manitoba for all Manitobans with cancer. The event also demonstrates the incredible network of support in the province, made up of patients, survivors, caregivers, and supporters; all walking and exercising together to clear a path for a future without cancer.
Being a participant means I have committed to raise at least $250 in the fight against cancer, though I have set my personal fundraising goal at $6000. To raise these funds, I have committed to walk 20 km, which I will be doing all in one day on Sunday, May 28.
CancerCare Manitoba is dedicated to excellence in care, providing the latest treatments available for those diagnosed and living with cancer and blood disorders and improving cancer outcomes for all Manitobans.
Join me in the Challenge by joining Team Jason's Journey or support me with a donation! Together, we can change the course of cancer in Manitoba. Thank You!!
