I am taking the Challenge - CancerCare Manitoba's Challenge for Life – to support all Manitobans affected by cancer. Over the past few months, several of my friends have been among the 19 people diagnosed with cancer each day in our province. In addition, other close friends are now going through a cancer journey with a member of their immediate family. The pandemic has made it very difficult to offer a physical presence of support to these friends, so I am showing my support by participating in Challenge for Life.
This year, I have set a goal to raise at least $5000 to support CancerCare Manitoba and all those in need.
All funds raised stay in Manitoba. Donor contributions help bridge the gap of initiatives and programs not eligible for government funding or where financial resources are not available. This support to CancerCare Manitoba profoundly impacts patient outcomes.
My Challenge will begin at the CancerCare Manitoba building on McDermot Ave. I will run 10 km to Assiniboine Park, then cycle 15 km to Headingley. I aim to do this twice between Aug 5 and 17 - once for each of my friends currently undergoing chemotherapy.
