My mother-in-law was diagnosed with metastatic mucinous carcinoma of the gastrointestinal region on April 30 of 2020. Only four weeks later, on May 29, we were given the grim news that treatment is futile, and she was handed a prognosis of three months.
On her personal page, my wife wrote: "My mom’s shoes, as is the case for most moms, can never be filled by another. To honour my mom, I have created a team called “Mom’s Shoes” and will walk 20 km, with my husband, our three girls, my brother, and many others, wearing my mom’s shoes." In August, I will walk with her to honour my mother-in-law and to show my hope for a world with a cure for cancer.
As part of the Challenge, our team has agreed to raise at least $2,000 and we really need your help to reach our goal. To donate, please use the link at the bottom of this email. We will make a difference together.... because we can!.
