I am taking the Challenge - CancerCare Manitoba's Challenge for Life – because I have two sisters who have had cancer. One of my sisters was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32, and in 2001 died at the age of 39. One of my other sisters, was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, and is a cancer survivor. Recently, a friend of mine shared information about this challenge and because of my close family connection to cancer, and the work done at Cancer Care Manitoba to support my sisters, I've decided to participate in the Challenge for Life this year.
I've committed to raising at least $1,500 to support CancerCare Manitoba and all those in need, including the children of those suffering from cancer. In 2001, through some fundraising by my family, the Kids Can Cope program was started in honor of my sister who recently died from cancer. She had a young son (11 years old) when she died, and through her battle with cancer, she felt a program to help kids of cancer patients was very important.
Please considering supporting me with a donation. We'll do it together.... because we can!
The 2020 Challenge for Life is completely virtual and I have chosen to golf for 20 KM. I'll be honest, I typically take a golf cart when golfing, but during this challenge, I will walk these courses to golf 20 KM as my Challenge for Life. My wife has also agreed to join me!
