Chain for Change taking place on World Cancer Day embraces the tagline “We Can. I Can.” and explores how everyone - as a collective or as an individual - can do their part to reduce the global burden of cancer.
Just as cancer affects everyone in different ways, each person has the power to take action to reduce cancer’s impact and it is time for Winnipeg to act in a big way. We hope to set the Guinness World Record for the longest chain of ice skaters on World Cancer Day to raise funds for CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
Earlier this week the Burns Foundation, a long-time supporter of CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, made a gift of $100,000 to Chain for Change. The Burns Foundation encourages all Manitobans to get on board with this fun and important effort to support the great work happening at CancerCare Manitoba. Donations will be matched dollar for dollar by the Burns Foundation.
Our fundraising total will be announced at the event, so come by and see for yourself what we accomplish together.
If you are unable to register online, please call 204-784-2777 and we would be happy to assist you.
Fundraising can also be done offline using a pledge form.
If people wish to donate by cheque, please have cheques made out to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation with a memo: Chain for Change.
If you wish to donate to a team or individual, please indicate the name of the team you wish to have your funds support.
Offline donations will be collected Saturday, February 3 at Travel Manitoba with registration pick up, or they can be dropped off at the Foundation office or mailed in to:
