I’m taking the Challenge – Cancer Care Manitoba's 2017 Challenge for Life – because I can!
Yes, I am once again doing the Challenge for Life Walk in support of Cancer Care Manitoba. This will be my tenth year participating in the walk. It has been a good ten years. I have walked many, many miles and with your help and support have raised many thousands of dollars for Cancer Care Manitoba.
I have decided that this will be my last year doing the challenge for life walk, after ten years it is time for a change. I am not sure what that will be, but I am sure that I will find something (or it will find me). As you know, I have a hard time standing still. I have decided I would like to make this the” BEST WALK EVER”.
So now, for one last time I ask for your help and support of my Challenge for Life Walk. I will walk for all our friends and family that have needed, and still need the help and support of Cancer Care Manitoba.
In closing I will once again leave you with my favourite quote by Martha Von Sutter. “After the verb to love; to help, is the most beautiful verb in the world.” So, thank you for the love, the help, and all the support. Together we have made a difference.
CancerCare Manitoba is the provincially mandated cancer agency for all of Manitoba, charged with the responsibility for cancer prevention, detection, treatment, research and education. CancerCare Manitoba is dedicated to excellence in cancer care, to enhancing the quality of life for those diagnosed and living with cancer and blood disorders and to improving the control of cancer for all Manitobans.
Our goal is to prevent every cancer we can; those we cannot prevent we strive to detect early and those we do not detect early, we treat with the best available options. CancerCare Manitoba is committed to continuous learning and improvement through world-class research.
The CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is the only organization exclusively fundraising for CancerCare Manitoba. While CancerCare Manitoba works in partnership with Manitoba Health, some programs and services may not be eligible for government funding. CancerCare Manitoba Foundation raises funds to bridge this gap and help deliver the best research, patient care, treatment and support for all Manitobans and their families living with cancer.
By participating in this 10th Annual “Made-in-Manitoba” event, I have committed to help reduce my own risk of cancer by taking steps to improve my overall health. I am also committing to raise at least $500 to support CancerCare Manitoba - and all those who cannot walk.
Join me in the Challenge – either by registering to Walk It or Work It or by supporting me with a donation. We'll do it together.... because we can!
