I think that last year it was easier walking 20 km than it was ten years ago when this all started. I guess what the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation has been saying for years is true - you participate and help to haul in a million dollars for CancerCare Manitoba while doing something for your own health at the same time. So, until someone tells me that walking around the city with a few hundred friends is bad for you, I am in.
Those who know me realize that there is more to it than that. For most of the fourteen years during which Sharon was living with cancer, she either volunteered or worked in the CancerCare building. That gave me two perspectives. The first was about her access to health care from CancerCare Manitoba and her steadfast confidence in her doctors. The other was about how important the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is for CancerCare Manitoba's wish list. And it is an expensive wish list.
So I hope that you will join me by signing up, hitting the donation button, or both.
