Five years ago, I successfully ran 5 hours around The Forks area when I celebrated my 50th birthday on November 16, 2019. The event was called, “Run, Noel!” where I was able to raise a total of $3,166.00 for Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation.

With the support of my family, friends, co-workers and the generous people of Manitoba, that birthday celebration marked as one of the important highlights of my life.

On November 16, 2024, I will be turning 55 years old. Yes, time flies so fast and I could not imagine that another milestone is on its way.

As I celebrate my birthday this year, I will do a repetition of my fundraising run that I did 5 years ago. However, I will be adding .5 hours this time.

Join me on Saturday, November 16th as I run 5.5 hours around The Forks area. I will start running at 6:30 am until 12:00 noon. The start/finish line is at the front of Union Station on 123 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. The route will be around The Forks from Main Street, Marion, Tache, Provencher Bridge and back to Main Street until I finish the 5.5 hour run at 12 noon.

You can join me for the whole stretch of the run or even hit some mileage by running a kilometer or so within that period. You should not be a runner to run or walk with me. All paces and beginners are welcome! Bring your family, friends and dogs too!

I am dedicating this run event to my late father Narciso Lapuz, my father-in-law Teddy Rabanal who both passed away in 2020; my boss and mentor, Nancy Anderson who died of cancer in 2017 and to all cancer patients and survivors out there!
